About Me

/Who am I

I began consulting in the early 90’s specializing in web, database, project management and ICT support and I have an active interest in photography and video.

I have a diverse background in the information technology/computer industry and help organizations work through sometimes confusing options and suggest clear, appropriate solutions to solve problems and grow businesses.

The future of our people and planet depends on Social Enterprise, and I invest significant time and resource into community-based projects to help those in need in the Asia/Pacific region, specifically Luang Prabang, Laos where I have worked the last 5 years.

He aha te mea nui o te ao?
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.
What is the most important thing in the world?
It is people, it is people, it is people.

- Helen Clark, Former New Zealand Prime Minister -

A very capable web designer and system manager. A great communicator and planner, communicates quickly and has completed several projects a tight time frame in a very professional manner. He is open and honest in what is achievable and what is either expensive or impossible. These qualities are frequently very expensive or unattainable.
David is exceptionally good at understanding our business needs and creating the solutions required. He is professional, easy to work with, friendly and reliable. Nothing is too much trouble and the ongoing support is excellent.
A partnership relationship has developed, emerging opportunities are presented, and a thorough understanding of our business activities means that solutions can be developed to better meet the needs of our members and customers.
The database created for us by InfoAge greatly improved the efficiency of recording, analysing and reporting on public submissions on a major bill.
Our new database means that we now have accurate and timely, real-time information. It has helped us to ensure staff workloads are healthy and equitable.
David is quick to pick up on what is required, happy to answer queries quickly and are very good to deal with.
David has been a godsend in repairing a database badly in need of renewing. Throughout what could have been a horrendous redesign, his sense of humour and expertise has made the whole process enjoyable.
We found David to be friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and very accessible. He understood our needs and was able to convey complex ideas to us in ways that were helpful and informative. He provided prompt service, kept us updated regularly, and took the initiative to drive the project forward to completion.
David gave good, practical advice which was easy to understand. He is very good to work with and highly adaptable.

Social enterprise is a business model that puts people and community first, ahead of private or personal gain, while operating in a commercially viable and sustainable manner. Social enterprise is committed to social justice, social inclusion, enhancing quality of life, building community spirit and providing affordable and accessible services.

/Get in touch with me

Luang Prabang has a few service options and shops (not as many as Vientiane). My favourite Computer Shop for buying computer equipment and accessories is Boutsawat Computer on the way to the new bridge (North 13, Viengmai). The owner speaks excellent English and they are trying to provide the best IT service in Luang Prabang. If you can’t find what you need they can order it in. They also offer a guarantee and will repair and fix anything you buy from them.

My second favourite computer shop is Phongsavanh IT Center, near the petrol station opposite Wat Visone, worth a shot if you are after something and need it now. Most shops stock the same range of computer accessories so it can be difficult to source items they are not so common.

Wellington – the coolest little capital

Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, self-motivated, often risky – forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white.
